A New Cultural and Technological Experience: An Immersive Exploration of the Artistic Charm of Dunhuang and Blue and White Porcelain
This Mid-Autumn Festival, in addition to the "Mid-Autumn Light and Shadow Tour," Cyberport is also presenting two immersive cultural and art exhibitions: "Dunhuang Gifts" at Shop 311 and "Global Blue and White Porcelain: AI Healing Art Exhibition" at Shop 404. These exhibitions cleverly blend traditional culture with modern technology, creating a deeply immersive cultural experience through interactive installations, light and shadow technology, and artistic stage design.
I. "Dunhuang Gifts – Across Millennia." An Immersive Journey Through Art and the Soul
Curated by the Museum of Contemporary Culture and Technology (AMCCT) in collaboration with art technology development company MateZ Lab and the Dunhuang Academy of Painting, "Dunhuang Courtesy" draws inspiration from the murals and ritual music culture of the Mogao Grottoes in Dunhuang. Using contemporary technology, it reinterprets Dunhuang art, creating a "flow field" spanning over 5,000 square feet. This immersive interactive space allows visitors to journey through millennia and experience the spiritual charm of Dunhuang art.
Exhibition highlights include:
· AI Color Sculpture World × Flying Apsaras: Interactive astrological stele displays inspired by breathing rhythms and touch. When viewers touch sensor points, the entire mural instantly "comes alive," with Dunhuang's flying apsaras transformed into dancers playing ancient musical instruments. This digital spectacle of "silent paintings resonating, static apsaras dancing" allows viewers to resonate with the thousand-year-old flow experience through sight, sound, and touch.
· Virtual Grotto Experience: Traverse a 3-meter-tall classic mural with handheld lights, appreciating this millennium-old artistic treasure up close.
· Flowing Sand Dynamic Sensory Installation: Interactively explore the allegorical stories of Dunhuang and experience the fun and depth of culture.
· Jingxin Pavilion Zen Copying Experience: Copy Dunhuang patterns and the Heart Sutra, escaping the hustle and bustle of the city and finding focus and peace.
· Co-creative Art Experience: Visitors become contemporary painters, collaborating to create works that perpetuate the Dunhuang artistic spirit of "the harmony of all causes and conditions."
In addition, the exhibition features six pop-up experiences, themed "Intangible Cultural Heritage Handicraft × Digital Technology × Traditional Aesthetics," offering hands-on DIY experiences of intangible cultural heritage crafts, including: Dunhuang clay tablet murals, intangible cultural heritage Song Dynasty brocade pearl paintings, slow-living Flowing Sand art installations, digital AI ceramic art, intangible cultural heritage kingfisher feather inlay crafts, and intangible cultural heritage mother-of-pearl inlay crafts. Each workshop is fee-based, and participants can take home their hand-crafted artwork as a keepsake, continuing the beautiful memories of Dunhuang culture.
"Global Blue and White: AI Healing Art Exhibition" Sets a New Paradigm in Cultural Technology Experiences
"Global Blue and White" focuses on the art of Eastern blue and white porcelain, integrating AI-generated art, immersive projections, and multilingual digital guides to create an immersive art experience that bridges the cultural contexts of China and the West. The exhibition, centered around the theme of "The Drifting of Patterns," uses AI technology to reconstruct the evolution of ceramic patterns across diverse cultural contexts. Incorporating installation projections and soundscape design, the exhibition recreates the journey of Chinese ceramics across the Maritime Silk Road. Visitors can experience the "transoceanic journey of porcelain ships," from Malacca glazes to Dutch royal blues, witnessing the transformation of practical objects into artistic treasures and experiencing the fascinating resonance of Chinese and Western aesthetics in the digital age.
Exhibition Highlights Include:
· Immersive Ceramic Atlas Wall: The 4-meter-tall "Silk Road Ceramic Immersive Atlas Wall" dynamically depicts the cultural evolution of ceramic patterns.
· AI Ceramic Vase Installation: This 3-meter-tall dynamic installation combines AI-generated patterns with the interplay of light and shadow, showcasing a modern interpretation of ceramic art.
· Ceramic Blind Box Raffle: Adding fun and interactive elements, visitors have the chance to take home a unique ceramic souvenir.
· AI Multilingual Guided Tour: Available in Cantonese, Mandarin, English, Korean, Spanish, and Indonesian, visitors can gain a deeper understanding of the cultural context behind the exhibits using just their mobile phone.
"Blue and White Porcelain Around the World" transcends the static presentation of traditional ceramic exhibitions. Through the fusion of technology and art, it invites visitors to reconsider the modern value of local cultural heritage and experience the healing power of the intersection of culture and technology. Admission is free, and we sincerely invite everyone to explore the artistic charm and cultural depth of blue and white porcelain.
